Farewell

Nottingham City Harriers was the name adopted by a group of runners at the end of 2003 who, upon resignation from a local athletics club, set up their own independent training sessions.

The numbers have dwindled over the years and traveling to training venues at rush hour has got ever more difficult with worsening traffic conditions. So it has been decided to end the informal group from 17th January 2018, the remaining individuals continuing in a private capacity.

Many thanks to the runners who have supported these sessions over the years but we hope to still see some of you from time to time in the future.

International success!

In typically modest fashion, Sharon Orridge seems to have forgotten to tell us that

a) She was selected to run for England in the British and Irish Masters International Cross-country in Belfast last Saturday 17th November
and
b)
that she then WON the W40 class, finishing 5th overall.
What star!

9:15 14 October Leicester Half-Marathon

Not sure if anyone is up for a run round Leicester, but the 1/2M (14/10) course has been changed this year, moved back into the city and as a consequence is pancake flat (apparently). There's a mile or two on towpath (gravel), but other than that it looks like PB potential. Thought I'd do this as a tune-up for Bergamo. If you're interested there are some details here:

The veg was grown and manured by race organisors and very nice they are too. What a refreshing change to the charity (£28) event on tomorrow in Nottingham:)
