Farewell

Nottingham City Harriers was the name adopted by a group of runners at the end of 2003 who, upon resignation from a local athletics club, set up their own independent training sessions.

The numbers have dwindled over the years and traveling to training venues at rush hour has got ever more difficult with worsening traffic conditions. So it has been decided to end the informal group from 17th January 2018, the remaining individuals continuing in a private capacity.

Many thanks to the runners who have supported these sessions over the years but we hope to still see some of you from time to time in the future.

Tuesday 19th October - Geoff's Group

This will be an approx. 9 miles fartlek but refinements are being made to the routes all the time.

For those not in the know about the two groups; as a rough rule of thumb this group is for slower paced runners very roughly 40 to 50 mins 10K , 65 - 70 mins for 10m 90 - 105 mins for half marathon and who would like to improve.

If any slower paced runners feel this is still to fast for them, please note a vacancy exists for anyone who will lead slower runners on a regular basis starting at the same time as the rest of us. Any volunteers are most welcome though initially you will need to bring your own slower runners to kick start it.

All new runners who fit the bill are more than welcome; no obligation to join any club at any time. Just turn up!

6.30pm Nottingham Tennis Centre - meet in foyer / bar area a few mins. before.

Bronte Way, Lancashire to Yorkshire

Every finisher gets a bottle of beer! £5 to enter, a free coach to the start, a bag van, soup and a roll, free entry to the country park and a superbly organised event. Fell Runners do it again!
We ran 8.5 miles through historic Bronte country, starting at Ferndean Manor, past Wuthering Heights to the Bronte Parsonage to finish on the cobbled streets of Haworth. The whole race (one way) was into a strong East wind. I managed 7th, which I am pleased with! The British Fell Champ won. Results here in a couple of days.
