Nottingham City Harriers was the name adopted by a group of runners at the end of 2003 who, upon resignation from a local athletics club, set up their own independent training sessions.

The numbers have dwindled over the years and traveling to training venues at rush hour has got ever more difficult with worsening traffic conditions. So it has been decided to end the informal group from 17th January 2018, the remaining individuals continuing in a private capacity.

Many thanks to the runners who have supported these sessions over the years but we hope to still see some of you from time to time in the future.

Training and Racing 31st August - 6th September 2004
Tuesday 31st August - 6:30pm - Bramcote Leisure Centre
10M mainly off-road, start steady, finish quick.

Wednesday 1st September - 6pm - Tennis Centre
The Ken Allen-endorsed midweek longish run. I was thinking to stretch it out a bit his week. How about we do an out-and-back to Holme Pierrepont returning via Beeston Lock, or do the out and back with a loop of the lake? Either meet at the Tennis Centre @ 6pm or my place @ 5:50pm.

Thursday 2nd September - 6:30pm - Bramcote Park Intervals
Trevor's session - meet @ Bramcote Pk. Lake @ 6:30pm for 7pm session - likely 8 x 600m off 60-90 sec recovery.

Saturday 4th September - 10am - St. Leonards, Wollaton Park
Easy 1 hour session round the Park & Uni.

Gary and Simon will be doing the Ben Nevis Fell Race, back Wednesday.
Ben is not going to be there.

Sunday 5th September - 9am - Tennis Ctr., Univ. Blvd.
The long one, how about we head out along the canal / river towards Sawley, turn right at Trent Lock onto the Erewash canal and then go up there a really long way before coming back via the Nottingham Canal / Bramcote? Start steady, finish at 'Paul Archer-endorsed' suicidal pace!

A couple of upcoming races which may be of interest:
Robin Hood 1/2M - 12 September
Merrill College and Shelton Striders 10k - 3rd October

Someone tell Paul he needs a sub-2:41 to break the V40 course record at Abingdon.
