Road and Fell Racing/Training 2008

Training Sessions and local races for the (virtual) running club, Nottingham City Harriers. During the summer (from the last weekend in March) we are based at Bramcote Leisure Centre which gives easy access to off-road runs. gary.mcmahon(at)bigfoot.com

During the winter (from the last Tuesday in September) we are based at Nottingham Tennis Centre, University Boulevard, Nottingham, NG7 2QH, UK, Aerial view, which gives easy access to the road.

We offer training for everyone, whether in a club or not. For example, there are two groups, one doing 10 miles at a strong pace which is for those whose times are below 37 - 38 mins for 10k, 62mins for 10 miles 85 mins for a half-marathon or run on the fells. Geoff's group is for slower paced runners, down to very roughly 50 mins 10K, 70 mins for 10m, 105 mins half-marathon and who would like to improve.

Thursday 25th November - 6pm - Tennis Centre
7-8M, starting steady, finishing quick.

Saturday 27th November - 9am (Note new time) - St. Leonards, Wollaton Park
Easy 1 hour session round the Park & Uni. I'll be going at a very easy (~65 min) pace

Sunday 28th November - 9am
Papplewick, meet at the Griffins Head PH. 13.75m in 1:37 - 2:00 hours.

Due to Leisure Centre heating system undergoing repairs; I was told normal service will resume next week.

Back to normal -7.5 to 9 miles fartlek. New devotees always welcome; now a pb from an inmate in the Heanor 10K this Sunday. So it does you good. see you there; usual time 6.30pm kick off.

Some Weekend results 20th / 21st November

P B IN THE HEANOR 10K -

Tracey Hallam 46 mins 48 secs 156th out of 500 over all.

Well done Tracey!
