Training and Racing: Tuesday 21 April - Sunday 26 April 2009
Tuesday 21 April - 6:30pm
A 9.1 mile run from Bramcote out onto the Erewash Canal over Toton sidings and back via Moor Bridge. How does some sort of VO2 session sound?

Thursday 23 April - 5:15pm
11.5M medium-long run, incorporating 6M tempo. I'll be running from the Tennis Centre - if you're interested, send me a text.

Saturday 25 April - 9am
Wollaton Park easy 7.5 mile run for 1 hour, meet at St. Leonard's Avenue, Wollaton. Planning to do a few 150m strides with full recovery at the end of the run.

Sunday 26 April - ~7am
Not sure what people are planning. I was thinking to do a 19M incorporating a 30k progression run (10k easy - 10k steady - 10k marathon effort) starting early (~7am) so we can catch FLM on the telly.

Race Results
National 12 Stage - Awesome run Rob, you are on fire lad!!!
Notts AAA Summer League Race #1, Epperstone - very well run everyone.

Upcoming Races
Three Peaks Race Sat, 25 April, 10am
FLM - 26th April!!!!!!!!
Langtoft 10k - 3rd May (nr. Peterborough)
Leeds 1/2M - 10th May
Hinckley 1/2M - 10th May

Trent 5M - Wed 10th June, 7:30pm.
Start and finish from the Siemens Sports Ground in Beeston Rylands, Nottingham, UK. Great UKA measured course along the Trent, good running surfaces. Great value - only £4 for affiliated runners, almost as cheap as a fell race (but much flatter) so even Gary may do it! Full details and entry form from the Beeston AC website. Please note this replaces the Notts AAA Summer league at Erewash which has now moved to June 17th.

No more training sessions

It was decided by the regular members of the training group at a meeting last night, the group will not be running any more under the NCH heading, merely as runners in a private capacity. The regular numbers have dwindled and the worsening congestion on Nottingham roads are among the reasons for this decision. So after just over 14 years the advertised Tuesday sessions have now ended.

Training Tuesdays

Last night due to heavy traffic congestion I was late arriving at the Tennis Centre so apologies to anyone who gave up waiting. Also due to injury of key members the Bramcote run was cancelled at short notice so again apologies to anyone put out by the no shows. Going forward I am suspending the Tennis Centre sessions until January when hopefully the traffic may have eased slightly. The Bramcote group is also suspended until there is a compliment of regulars again. It will be announced on this blog.
