NEW TRAINING VENUE (From February 2004):

The new training schedule is open to everyone, no matter which club you belong to. The important thing is to train with a friendly, supportive group to the best of you ability. We offer training for fun-runners and International athletes. Come along and give it a try in a warm, safe, secure and modern sports center. There are showers and (£1, money returned) lockers to keep your kit safe. A bar, well priced cafe, sauna and fitness rooms make this a great venue.

Training nights on Tuesday, Thursday and occasional Friday and Sunday, are from the reception of the Tennis Centre, University Boulevard, Nottingham:

Tuesday 6:30pm

10m, 8m and 6m at varying paces, from beginner to speed merchant. Leave at 6:30pm sharp

Thursday: 6:30pm

Usually a session on the university campus, including fast runs over 1km and 400m, repeated 5 times, if you find the speed hard come and play and see what it feels like to run fast; or not! Optional Training on Bramcote and Wollaton Park with the speed merchants.

Saturday 10am

An 8m - 9m easy run around the university and Wollaton Park, what a great way to start the day! Takes about an hour. Start from St. Leonards Drive opposite Wollaton Park gates.

Sunday 9:00am

A long run of 14 - 23 miles. We start the training from a number of venues, so get in touch if you are interested.

If you have any questions or queries, please give Gary McMahon a ring on 0790 999 5529 or e-mail gary.mcmahon(at)bigfoot.com. We circulate up-to-date training schedules about every three days, if you want to be included send an e-mail to this address gary.mcmahon(at)bigfoot.com

Training Tuesdays

Last night due to heavy traffic congestion I was late arriving at the Tennis Centre so apologies to anyone who gave up waiting. Also due to injury of key members the Bramcote run was cancelled at short notice so again apologies to anyone put out by the no shows. Going forward I am suspending the Tennis Centre sessions until January when hopefully the traffic may have eased slightly. The Bramcote group is also suspended until there is a compliment of regulars again. It will be announced on this blog.
